Darn my teary eyes!
I have an issue with my eyes. They are prone to get teary with hardly any prompting. It happens most often when I'm talking to my employees at work and it makes me really mad, because it does not strike the professional tone I'm going for. "What, someone creepy made you feel uncomfortable?" I ask with teary eyes. "You shouldn't have to deal with that." Or, "We have a new policy, no more jeans," and my eyes are all a glimmer. "We appreciate your hard work!" and moisture accumulates. It doesn't matter if something doesn't seem like too big of a deal to me. It doesn't matter that there is no need for emotion. All the sudden, I feel my eyeball glisten. I try to pretend like the person I'm talking to can't tell, but, dude, I've seen my face in the mirror before. It is, if anything, overly obvious. Tarnation!
