So, it is clear that I did something to make the Fire God mad at me. Last night I made soup. I guess I made it hotter than I meant to, because as I sat down on the couch, the bowl touched my chest just above my neckline. My very natural reaction was to yank the hot thing away from my chest, which caused soup to spill all over my hands, which caused me to spill soup all over my lap, which caused me to fling the remainder of the bowl of soup onto the floor, leap up, and start trying to pull off my burning pants. After a few minutes in a cold shower, the only thing that still hurt was my thumb, but it hurt really badly. It's better today, but I didn't sleep very well, and now I just want to know "why." Why am I always burning myself? Is it related to me burning down the apartment? What did I do? And how do I make the Fire God like me again?
(P.S. Thank God for Todd. He cleaned up all the mess, helped me cool my burns, and made me pizza for dinner, which he wouldn't let me touch until it had sufficiently cooled down.)

Slacker
I am a slacker. I know. I still haven't put up pictures of when Christy and the boys came for a visit. I can't even remember if I got them on the computer yet (on the home computer- I'm on a break at work right now- not quite that lazy).
I do have the excuse that my laptop royally crashed. Todd bought us a nice new one, but then we had Internet issues. AT&T declared my modem defunct as soon as I gave them the serial number, and it took a week for the new one they sent to arrive. See? Excuses.
Life has been "interesting" lately, too. Work drama, no details given here. Bleh. Then there was the subpoena for the child custody case. It seemed like a kind of exciting experience in theory, but was not very fun in practice. I sat in for the end of another person's divorce hearing, and it was depressing. It made me feel guilty listening to someone else's private affairs, too. The case I was involved in was really strange. I went in, gave my testimony and left. I have no idea how the case was decided, and I don't know if I helped or hurt the guy who called me. The thing about testifying in court is, you can't really be helpful and likeable, like I like to be. You are helping one person and hurting the other with almost everything you say. Especially in this case, because I have no idea what the bigger picture is.
In other news, Todd and I have been discussing the where of the whole wedding thing. So far, we have decided against his home town church, against anywhere that would be too far for his family to travel, and against a few other places. I don't know where that leaves us. I think Todd is still hoping I'll give in and just elope.
Anyway, my break is over, so that's all for now!
